Koszalin is the largest city of Middle Pomerania, inland from the Mielno and Unieście beaches. The cathedral and a hilltop park give the centre a couple of viewpoints; most visitors use the city as a base for the western coast rather than a sightseeing capital.
It is a regional hub: shops, a grid of streets, and a short drive to the sea. From Gdańsk you cross central Pomerania to get here. Pair it with a beach day if the coast is the real goal.
