Chojnice is a small Gothic town on the edge of Tuchola Forest, with fragments of walls and a historic old town rather than a single famous monument. People come for the forest, lakes, and a quieter Kashubian-Pomeranian pace than the coast.
The parish church and market square make a short stroll; the real outing is into the woods. It is a natural stop between Gdańsk and the south-west of Pomerania. Expect nature first, town second.
