Klaipėda is Lithuania's port on the Baltic, the gateway to the Curonian Spit: dunes, lagoon, and a UNESCO landscape a ferry ride away. Theatre Square, the old town's small-scale streets, and the working harbour define the city.
It is about the coast and the spit more than a capital's museums. From Gdańsk the drive stays in the EU via Poland. A transfer works well if the spit or the port is the reason for the trip.
