Brno is the capital of South Moravia, with Špilberk fortress on the hill and Petrov cathedral above the centre. The city is known for functionalist architecture (Villa Tugendhat is UNESCO) as much as for medieval streets.
It is smaller and less crowded than Prague, with cafés and a dense walkable core. From Gdańsk the Czech route usually passes this way. Stop here for a different Czech city than the capital.
